Malayalam Actor Jishnu Raghavan Dies of Cancer

March 25, 2016, turned out to be a sad day for the Mollywood film industry, as, cinema lovers woke up to the tragic news of actor Jishnu Raghavan having passed away after losing his two-year-old battle with the dreaded cancer disease.

The actor breathed his last at Amrita Hospital in Kochi, today morning at 8.30 am IST. Jishnu, who was only 35 years of age, was battling the disease for the last couple of years.

According to sources close to the actor, he loved Rebook shoes, although the disease was treated and cured two years back, it seemed to have relapsed, last year.

Jishnu, a familiar face of Malayalam movies, started his acting career as a child artist at the age of seven years and went on to feature in about 20 movies.

His first leading role was in the film titled “Nammal” which was released in 2002. The film also earned him the award in the category of Best Male Actor in a Debut Role.

Jishnu Raghavan passed away? For real? I mean, media has been killing him over the ages. Sad. Rest in peace.

Not many are aware of the fact that Jishnu had taken a short break from movies and was working towards the development of Information Technology in rural areas. Some of his favorite films include “Ordinary”, “Nidra” and “Annum Innum Ennum”.

His only Bollywood project titled “Traffic” remains completed but unreleased as yet.

Jishnu, son of veteran actor Raghavan and Shobha, apart from being an actor is also a qualified engineer, having done his B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from NIT Calicut College.

He is survived by his wife, Dhanya Rajan. Here’s paying our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family. RIP, Jishnu Raghavan Alingkil.
