Euro 2016 semi-final: Portugal vs Wales 2-0 – All Goals and Highlights Video

It is the stories of the underdogs that continue to write themselves as Wales took on Portugal in the first semi-final of Euro 2016.

Final score Portugal (2-0) Wales

Yet, that is not what is at the center of the story as Chris Coleman’s men gear up to take on the Fernando Santos’. It is Gareth Bale vs Cristiano Ronaldo. Sheer speed vs overall brilliance. The Flash vs Batman (apologies.. I had to do it!).

Portugal barely managed to make it to the first knockout stage after finishing third in their group. They have shown resilience despite their marquee player Ronaldo failing to fire like he usually does.

Portugal may have barely made it, but they are not entirely unfamiliar to it. However, for Wales this is unchartered territory. It can not be made easier that Aaron Ramsey is going to miss the game after picking up two yellow cards.

The YEFA has turned a blind eye and deaf ear to the petition signed by 5,000 Welsh fans to allow him to play. The Arsenal speedster picked up a yellow in the quarter-final against Belguim.

Despite Portugal barely qualifying, they seem to be neutral fan and betting-site favourites.

It isn’t hard to figure out why. However, Ronaldo’s real Madrid teammate Bale has significantly outperformed him in the tournament.

However the absence of Ramsey, who assisted five of their eight goals in the tournament is going to hurt the team confidence.

Speaking of suspensions, Portugal’s William carvalho is also going to miss the fight for a place in the final for the same reason.

Former Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelloti has hailed both Ronaldo and Bale and said that this could be one of the most exciting matches of the tournament.

As for the fans around the world, it doesn’t get much better than this. Teammates in Spain shall battle it out in France.
