Xiaomi’s Mi4 has finally been revealed at their launch event in Beijing, China. Similar to Xiaomi’s Mi3, the Mi4 sports amazing features in a sleek stainless steel frame.
The newest flagship comes with the best internals and features, which is why it is expected to be one of the best sellers in China. Xiaomi Mi4 also comes with some options when changing the back covers.
Unfortunately, the body of Mi4 is not full metal, just the metallic frame, while the back cover is made of plastic with a brushed aluminum texture. Also, Mi4 offers various options for its back covers, which include fabric, leather, bamboo and wood.
Xiaomi Mi4’s stainless steel frame is created with “unbelievable craftsmanship and polish” in the words of Hugo Barra, Xiaomi’s head of international expansion.
Also, Xiaomi will be including a new version of their MIUI skin. Mi4’s front consists of three capacitative buttons, for home, recent, and back, same with the rest of Android devices.
Moreover, Xiaomi offers a 5-inch JDI OGS Full HD display, a quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at 2.5 GHz. Its RAM has 3GB capacity, 16 or 64GB of storage and a 3080mAH battery. Xiaomi gave no specifics on how long its battery will last, but the Mi4 will offer quick charging. This is an obvious upgrade from Mi3.
Xiaomi has included 13MP rear camera and f/1.8 lens. For its front camera, it has a whopping 8MP, offering an 80-degree field of view and with the same f/1.8 lens. The megapixel size of Xiaomi Mi4’s front camera is both surprising and amusing, since it will only be used for taking selfies.
The smartphone also offers the MIUI V6 custom interface which will be officially released on the market on August 16.
Nothing yet has been said as to how much the back covers will cost individually. On the latter part, the price for Xiaomi’s Mi4 is no news. The 16GB will cost around for $320 while the 64GB will come around for $400.
The Mi4 will probably go around China’s neighboring Asian countries, particularly in Hong Kong, India, Singapore, and Taiwan. Nothing yet has been noted if Xiaomi is planning to expand in European or US release
