By introducing the update, LG has probably become the first company to introduce updates for the Smart TVs.

On the other hand, we also have Samsung providing updates with a purchase of additional hardware coming with the high-end TVs priced in between $200 – $400. Samsung offers Evolution Kit and OneConnect Boxes for such upgrades. Comparing the two on the availability of apps, then Samsung also has its TVs equipped with the DirecTV Ready app with the 4K version.
