Times Internet Buys U.S Based Willow TV

Times Internet, the largest digital network in India has announced that they have reached a definitive agreement to acquire Willow TV, the top rated cricket broadcaster in the US.
Times Internet is a part of Times of India Group, and this step is considered to be a giant leap from the Indian firm.

Willow TV is one of the fastest growing cricket networks in the USA, and it is known for featuring world’s noted cricket matches and events.

The channel is being named after willow tree; from its parks, cricket bats are being made. Willow TV is the only channel entirely dedicated to cricket in the United States of America, and they even offer live streaming through www.willowtv.com.

Cricket is one of the fastest growing sports in the world, and it has the second fan following next to soccer. The popularity of cricket has reached new heights after the introduction of T 20 format in which the game gets over in less than three hours.

Satyan Gajwani, Director of Times Internet, told that Times Group is jubilant to welcome Willow TV to their family. He also added that Times Internet aims to expand the clutches of cricket in the United States of America through Willow TV.

Willow TV is available on 07 of the top 10 pay Television platforms in the country. More launches in the pipeline are expected in the coming days.
