Sanjay Dutt Likes to Maintain His Identity And Not Munnabhai’s

Although a free man now, after having served his jail term, the feeling of freedom is yet to sink in for actor Sanjay Dutt.

The ‘Munna Bhai’ actor, who was convicted of possessing illegal arms and was sentenced to five years rigorous imprisonment, was released from Pune Yerwada jail, where he was lodged, on February 25, 2016.

The incarcerated actor was released 103 days ahead of his term with the jail authorities citing his good conduct and behavior as the reasons for the concession.

Speaking at India Today Conclave, Sanjay Dutt shared some of his jail experiences, with the media. Having been in solitary confinement, for the last couple of years. He walked out as a free bird. This is yet to sink in for the actor.

Sanjay mentioned that getting used to living a free life will take time for him as he was accustomed to taking permissions for each and every little movement of his, while in jail.

In spite of rumors about, Sanjay Dutt being meted out VIP and preferential treatment, while in prison, the actor mentions otherwise.

According to him, he was always in the eyes of the media, due to his celebrity status. And each act of his was being monitored and reported by them.

He clarified about being given the same treatment and facilities like any other typical inmates.

And now, wanting to start his life afresh and on a clean slate, Sanjay has many things on his agenda, before he returns to arc lights, his first love.

The tag of being a terrorist, which has been haunting the actor for 23 long years, has now finally been washed clean.

For Sanjay, it is now all about being ‘Nayak’ and ‘Khalnayak’ being a memory of past.
