The President addressed the nation on Friday morning, and he told that the country would stay united. He added that the French people are always stronger than fanatics, and they will continue fighting against terrorists in a very strong manner.

He assured that more steps to combat fanatical religious terrorism would be adopted in Iraq and Syria to avoid future attacks like this.

The State of Emergency in the country has been extended to another three months.

Police officials killed the attacker, and they are now investigating whether there are any accomplices with him.

According to NBC News, the attacker is a French National of Tunisian descent. An eye witness told that a white truck literally raced through people of all ages.
