Kate Perry and Dolly Parton paired together at the 51st Annual Academy Of Country Music Awards night for an entertaining evening.

Parton wore a jacket glittering with an array of sequins in many colors while Perry wore a fringed satin dress in bright shades of pink and yellow.

It was a perfect evening of country music with Parton’s classic hits like “Coat of Many Colors” from 1971, “Jolene, Jolene” from 1973), and “9 to 5″ (1980) enamoring the audience.

Both the Divas may be alike as cheese and chalk but share a mutual admiration for each other’s art and also a great ability to jibe together on stage. Perry joked that both are made from the same lame and Parton is her personal hero before joining the reigning empress of country music for the much-awaited duet.

The admiration is mutual, and Parton in an interview on CMT said that she considers Perry to be a great artist and a beautiful girl.
Perry also presented Parton with the Tex Ritter Award for Parton’s hit made-for-television movie, Dolly Parton’s NBC’s Coat of Many Colors. Perry added that she wanted to do something for Dolly

So is “I Kissed a Girl” singer the next country music’s superstar? Perry was introduced by tourmate Kacey Musgraves. The 51st Annual Academy Of Country Music Awards was hosted by Dierks Bentley and Luke Bryan at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The show honored the Big Whigs from the world of country music like Miranda Lambert and Chris Stapleton stealing the show and grabbing some of the top honors.
