Toyota recalls certain Avalon, Camry, Highlander, Sienna, and Lexus RX due to fuel leak defect

Cars are machine and machines are not perfect. Despite precautions, there are plenty of things that can go wrong in a car.

Toyota Motor Corporation is recalling 20,000 cars here over a fuel delivery pipe fault that could spark a fire. The recall involves models carrying a 2GR-FE engine. Among the vehicles affected include the 2015 luxury model Lexus RX and an array of 2014 Toyota vehicles makes such as the Avalon, Camry, Highlander and Sienna. The affected models were all manufactured in the USA except for the Lexus brand which was assembled in Canada.

The problem is believed to be a result of the poor welding made on the fuel delivery pipe, something that may increase the risk of a vehicle fire. As of today, there have been no reports on fire, accidents or fatalities caused by fuel leaks.
