The latest iOS 16 update has brought a bunch of exciting features for iPhones including haptic keyboard, customizable lock screen, camera performance improvements and more. There is so much going on at the same time inside the phone that it may cause the battery draining fast problem. There are many apps as well that can unnecessarily deplete your iPhone battery by running in the background. However, you can improve your iPhone’s battery performance by reviewing some of the settings of your iPhone. Making certain changes will significantly boost battery life of your handset. So, if you are in the market for some information on the subject, here is how to stop iPhone battery draining fast. Note, that if you have an iPhone 12, iPhone 13 or other eligible iPhones, you must first update them to iOS 16 to get the most benefit.
1. Switch off the new haptic feature.
Though the haptic feature is by-default off, make sure that it’s not enabled in the settings tab.
2. Turn on auto-brightness of your iPhone
It might look better when your iPhone’s brightness is set to maximum but it drains the battery fast. The brighter your phone’s screen, the faster your iPhone’s battery will drain. Hence you can apply Apple’s Auto-Brightness feature so that the display brightness automatically sets according to the ambient lighting wherever you are. This will significantly extend iPhone battery life.
3. Close battery-draining apps
The iPhone has several built-in apps that drain the battery faster. You can close or delete such apps by making certain changes in Settings. Head to Settings, go to Battery, and tap on the ‘Last 10 Days’ option. It will display your battery usage by different apps. Close such apps and run in the background. You can also delete some of the apps that are not useful for you and stop iPhone battery draining fast.
4. Turn on low power mode or dark mode
Turning on low power mode is one of the most effective ways to boost battery life. This feature suspends mail fetch, background app refresh, automatic downloads, etc with a single button. You can turn on Low Power mode in the Settings tab. Go to the Control Centre in the Settings tab, then Customise Controls, and tap the + icon next to Low Power Mode if it’s not already there. However, you may find that some of the apps may not refresh and you may get delayed notifications.
5. Update apps to their latest version
Always keep updating apps as it will not only provide you with the latest features but also make your battery last longer.
