The Philadelphia 76ers Applauded For Acknowledging Their Failure At NBA Finals

The 76ers are looking to see if there is a trade market for everyone on their squad who isn’t Joel Embiid or James Harden, with the NBA Draft less than a week away. While developing star Tyrese Maxey appears safe, nearly everyone else from last season’s core could be traded this offseason. Daryl Morey is going to be wheeling and dealing in no time.

“The organization is assessing teams’ interest in Tobias Harris, Matisse Thybulle, Furkan Korkmaz, and Shake Milton, as well as potential trade partners for Danny Green and the No. 23 pick,” according to Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Remember that Philadelphia is part of an Atlantic Division with four teams qualifying for the 2022 Eastern Conference Finals, including the Boston Celtics. They were defeated in six games by the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals.

Trade speculations in the NBA

The 76ers have several important trade assets, but with Embiid and Harden as their two most outstanding players, it’s difficult to imagine them winning multiple postseason series in a row. Even though Embiid has overcome his injury-plagued reputation early in his career, it is still on everyone’s mind. Harden’s performance has deteriorated dramatically since leaving the Houston Rockets.

As reported by Fansided, What matters is that Maxey is a rising star. If he can be the player that Morey and the rest of the Philadelphia brass believe he can be, the 76ers might have a shot to be something remarkable. Of course, this would need his surpassing Harden as the team’s second-best player, after only Embiid. The big three of Embiid, Maxey, and Harden can win a league championship.

However, moving Harris’ contract could be difficult. Thybulle’s market worth has plunged due to his lack of vaccination. Korkmaz and Milton might be able to make a difference for someone, but neither will provide Morey and colleagues with the kind of payoff they’re looking for to shake things up truly.
