Karnataka Minister Sharan Patil’s PA Arrested for Question Paper Leak

The Karnataka Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has arrested three people on Monday, who are allegedly involved in leaking the 12th class Pre -University Course Chemistry paper.

The arrested are Oblaraju, the personal assistant of Minister for Medical Education Sharan Prakash Patil; Manjunath, the P T teacher in a private college and Rudrappa from Public Works Department are allegedly involved in a big racket.

According to the CID, the three persons leaked the question paper on March 21.

The question papers have been leaked twice in a span of 10 days and affected around 1.74 lakh students.

Reportedly the trio sold the question papers for approximately Rs 25 lakh. Manjunath first bought the paper from an official from the Department of Pre-University Education (DPUE) for Rs 10 lakh and then, Oblaraju further sold it to Rudrappa who was responsible for the circulation of the question paper.

The police said that Manjunath’s interrogation will be necessary to identify the culprit from DPUE.

The Chemistry exam to be held on March 21 was rescheduled to March 29 after the leak of question paper online.

But, it was again leaked resulting in the cancellation of the exam. The students and parents staged a protest.

Another suspect, Kiran who is supposed to have circulated questions on WhatsApp is said to be missing.

The investigations are on, and the CID promises to catch all the culprits.
