Justin Bieber and Kim Kardashian look-alikes remind us that beauty is more than skin-deep

If you’ve ever dreamed of starting your own movie, music, or entertainment career, you realize that it’s never easy. There’s a lot of work that goes into preparing yourself for what could be a new career at any moment. And, with dreams of grandeur, you find yourself making sacrifices (cutting back on leisure purchases, sometimes eating and sleeping out of your car, etc.) to get from where you are to where you wanna be. And, if you have an idol such as Justin Bieber or Kim Kardashian, you’ve likely watched their actions and incorporated something similar (yet unique) into your own work.

Well, the individuals in question aren’t trying to launch music or entertainment careers – but apparently, looking like entertainment stars is now en vogue. One individual by the name of Toby Sheldon spent $100,000 to look like Justin Bieber, his idol. The “Belieber” (yes, a term used for Bieber followers) wants to look like Justin Bieber “until the day I die,” he said.

The next individual didn’t spend $100,000 but she did spend $30,000 to look like Kim Kardashian. Essex, England resident Claire Leeson says that she was told she was ugly all the time when in school (called “the ugliest thing alive”). “When I left school, friends would tell me that I had a resemblance to Kim. I watched (‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians’) and realized I had the same amount of siblings and that we have the same kind of arguments and things going on. I thought she was so beautiful and I really wanted to be like her,” Leeson said. You can view her picture and Kim Kardashian’s below.

Why do some choose to get a body makeover like entertainment celebrities? Some do it as an act of adoration: they are huge fans or followers of an individual’s TV show, music, movies, etc., and having plastic surgery to mimic the celebrity is their way of saying they idolize the famous star. In this case, however, one individual, Claire Leeson, got $30,000 worth of plastic surgery to mimic Kim Kardashian because she was told by others that she was “the ugliest person they’d ever seen.” It is a shame that any individual could say that to someone, but it’s even sadder when an individual decides to get plastic surgery to look like Kim Kardashian (or anyone else) because they believe the lies they’re told by cruel people.

Todd’s case is a bit different: he simply wants to look like Justin Bieber because he wants to. At the same time, however, his desire to look like Justin Bieber is Todd’s own admission that he didn’t view himself as a handsome man who didn’t need “the Bieber look” to attract women or get an acting career (for example). He believed that he was inferior to such an extent that he wanted to get a makeover to look like Justin Bieber. And, even when he did, he only slightly resembles Bieber. His skin tone is still pale and doesn’t match Bieber’s somewhat sun tone complexion. He’s got his hair whipped to the side as Justin Bieber does, but does he look like Bieber when he takes his shirt off?

These are but two cases, but they go a long way in showing us that beauty is more than “skin-deep.” Beauty is a feature of the human constitution that comes from the heart and the soul. Beauty is all about who a person is, their goals and dreams, strengths and weaknesses. Beauty is not犀利士
just about looks, since looks can fade in twenty or thirty years.

I wish that Todd and Claire had seen “Beauty and the Beast” when they were younger – at least enough to believe its message. It’s a child’s film, but it shows us that, when someone views others as ugly, he or she becomes a “beast.” The prince or princess inside of us is illuminated when we realize that each person is beautiful in his or her own way. Unfortunately, Claire Leeson listened to “the beasts” around her – and spent $30,000 to match her idol. Todd’s self-esteem is apparently, worse than Claire’s.

Todd and Claire, we want you to know that you are of infinite worth, far more than the $30K or $100K you spent to look like your idols. And we know for a fact that, should you ever meet your idols in person, if they’re a prince and a princess, Justin Bieber and Kim Kardashian will tell you the same.
