Johnny Depp trial: Why is it not on TV, and when does it resume? – PennLive

The now infamous Johnny Depp and Amber Heard trial kicked off on Monday, April 11 and is expected to go through the end of May. It airs Monday through Thursday at 10 a.m. on the Law & Crime Trial Network. However, the proceedings are on hold for May 9-12 as Judge Penney S. Azcarate attends a previously-scheduled conference.
If you don’t have cable, you can live stream the trail on one of the following networks: Philo – with a free trial and Fubo – also with a free trial.
If you missed “The Johnny Depp vs. Amber Heard Defamation Trial” or want to binge watch other Law & Crime network content online, you can also watch those on Philo and Fubo.
You can use the channel finder on your provider’s website to locate it: Verizon Fios, AT&T U-verse, Comcast Xfinity, Spectrum/Charter, Optimum/Altice, DIRECTV, Dish.
Depp has already testified, and Heard will be returning to the witness stand Monday, May 16 in Depp’s $50 million defamation lawsuit against Heard.
The trial is scheduled to last five weeks in total. The fourth week began on Monday, May 2.
The trial is set to conclude on Thursday, May 19.
Since the trial is set before a jury, once both sides rest their case we will need to wait for the jury to deliberate before a verdict is announced. This could take just a few hours or could be up to several days.
The jury will decide whether Heard defamed Depp in the Washington Post article, and will determine if Depp is granted damages.
