Halo Gamers: Spartan Strike finally arrives on iOS, Windows Phone, Steam

Halo: Spartan Strike has officially launched on multiple platforms, and now it looks like Microsoft isn’t wasting any time busting into competing platforms. This time, the team has decided to launch an iOS and Steam version of the mobile game – immediately – rather than wait longer. This is a move that won’t be contested at all, when Microsoft evaluates the overall performance of the game. Microsoft announced that the game would be available on all iOS devices, like the iPhone, iPad, and iPod even – as well as Windows 8 devices.

The move comes at a time when Microsoft is taking the cross-platform move very seriously. They are expending an immense amount of energy to ensure that the team is delivering an experience on all devices – that doesn’t leave anyone out. However, an interesting note is the fact that it would appear as though it won’t be available on Android devices for the time being. That though might change in the coming weeks or months.

For the latest game alone it will cost $5.99 while iOS users will get a bundle – which will include the predecessor to this game as well. However, it will cost $9.99 as opposed to the $5.99 it would cost as a standalone. This though should be received well, as users have wanted Microsoft to make this move for some time. Up until this point though, it was only a matter of contending with the continued growth of the game – and ensuring that it would meet the standard that the Halo games have set to this point – even on the mobile platform.

Many have pointed out that the game has been designed with touch devices in mind, and that at the end of the day this will be one of the best shooter experiences – on a touch device today. Those are impressive words given the fact that the Halo franchise as a whole is reliant on ensuring users gain experience that is somewhat similar throughout all of their games. The game will be set in a number of different settings, ranging from urban cities to rural regions and jungles.
