FSU football will host their second scrimmage Saturday, which means they are through two weeks of 2022 fall camp.
FSU head coach Mike Norvell continues to praise this team for their effort, focus, and will to get better each day.
The 2022 team looks much farther along than last year at this time. There’s improvement across the board and depth at many more positions. A prime example was losing offensive lineman Kayden Lyles for the season to an injury and not going into panic mode immediately.
The quarterbacks have continued to flash, along with the wide receivers, the latter of which I told everyone would be much better than last year.
I think too many pundits fail to capture the context of guys arriving in the spring and learning a new offense.
There’s no way they would hit the ground running and become practice all-stars. They’ve had time to acclimate to things and have many more practice reps under their belt now, and it’s beginning to show. I expect the offense to be markedly better if Jordan Travis remains healthy.
Some believe Tate Rodemaker has improved enough to lead the offense in a pinch should Travis not be available.
He has shown a lot of improvement at practice, but I continue to be in the I need to see it in a real game before I believe it boat.
