Dana Walden Addresses Disney General Entertainment Colleagues After Executive Shakeup, Pledges Commitment To Inclusion & Dana Walden sent a note to staff Monday morning, her first public comments since being named Chairman of Disney General Entertainment.

She expressed her “immense gratitude to Bob Chapek for providing me this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity,” adding that she “is extremely proud of what we accomplish.” She also lauded Peter Rice, a “talented CEO,” for his mentoring and friendship, as well as the accomplishments of each division in the content group’s portfolio.

Following Disney CEO Chapek’s surprising removal of Rice as Chairman of Disney General Entertainment and Walden’s selection to succeed him, Walden sent a business email. The reorganization sent shockwaves through the corporation, impacting staff morale.

GREY’S ANATOMY has crossed 400 episodes and is still one of the most popular shows on television after 18 seasons.

Disney Channel has been the #1 cable network among girls 6-11 for 52 consecutive quarters, and Disney Junior has been the #1 preschool network since 2013. Disney Branded Television, the leading provider of original content for the Disney tile on Disney+, has led Disney Junior to be the #1 preschool network since 2013.

Adults 18-34 and Women 18-34 continue to rank Freeform as the top primetime entertainment cable network of the season. CRUEL SUMMER set a new high score.
