China’s global warming concern poses ‘HUGE’ threat

China’s climate change concerns are boiling over. Government officials are finally confessing that concerns around global warming, and climate change as a whole in China – could pose a “huge” threat to the nation, and it’s infrastructure. Amongst the concerns, are those around the notion that the “huge impact” will be felt in the agriculture community, will cause a significant rise in natural weather disasters in the country, and much more. For those who are living in China, the warning signs have now reached an epic boiling point that will require the entire nation – and the rest of the world for that matter – to take significant steps to reverse the damage that is currently being done.

Zheng Guogang said in a statement to Chinese news that, “To face the challenges from past and future climate change, we must respect nature and live in harmony with it.” The changes aren’t something that can just be pushed under the rug and forgotten until later. Everyone needs to step up and change what is currently being seen throughout the world, and in China particularly – who remains one of the top producers of greenhouse gases – change has to come soon.

Guogang went on to point out that, “We must promote the idea of nature and emphasize climate security,” evaluating the security impacts that global warming has on every nation around the world. This echoed many of the concerns that advocates who are trying to stop climate change have been suggesting for some time. At the end of the day, the message was really damning from one of the country’s largest weather and climate authorities.

The China Meteorological Administration pointed out that, “By the end of the 21st century, there will be higher risks of extreme high temperatures, floods and droughts in China,” showcasing just how much of a concern the climate really is in China. This though isn’t something that is unique to China. While they are major producers of greenhouse gases, and the emissions that ultimately are damaging Earth – the United States is facing a similar situation – even as both countries work mildly to reverse the course we are taking.

China’s government though has maintained a relatively smart approach to climate change, pointing out that the changes that take place – must move “step by step,” instead of moving bluntly in one direction all at once. This way people are protected as well as Earth. In all it’s a situation that has become increasingly challenging, for individuals to fight what has become a tidal wave of change. More and more people understand that change has to come, and it needs to come quickly.
