India faced a big injury scare during the second ODI against Bangladesh in Dhaka as skipper Rohit Sharma hurt his thumb while fielding.
The injury occurred during the fourth delivery of the second over, sent down by Mohammed Siraj, as Rohit, who was fielding in the slip cordon, tried to catch a ball and hurt his thumb. The Indian skipper was immediately taken off the field and replaced by Rajat Patidar.
The BCCI has now released a statement on Twitter confirming the injury, with the update that he has been sent for scans. “India Captain Rohit Sharma suffered a blow to his thumb while fielding in the 2nd ODI. The BCCI Medical Team assessed him. He has now gone for scans.”
