Cadillac has held the CTS-V close to its heart for a few years now, and as the company continues to push the limits of what sedans are capable of – the latest edition of the CTS-V will get the job done. The 2016 Cadillac CTS-V is being called a sedan with the heart of a supercar, according to some, and others are simply calling it a beast of a sedan. That’s probably due to the price tag and the power output that this vehicle will push.

The Cadillac CTS-V will start at $84,990, but that will only include the raw, base-model, without including destination, taxes, and all of the other wonderful things that go along with purchasing a vehicle. It’ll come with a 6.2-liter V8 supercharged engine that will be capable of 640 horsepower and 630 lb-ft of torque. If that sounds familiar, that’s because it will have the same power as a Chevrolet Corvette Z06 supercar.

The only difference will be that Cadillac is going for something significantly classier than a supercar. They were looking to create the sedan to end all sedans. The 2016 Cadillac CTS-V features, Brembo brakes, Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires, a carbon fiber hood and matte carbon fiber trim. Cadillac’s President, Johan de Nysschen pointed out that, “The new CTS-V is the most compelling example of Cadillac’s product substance and brand trajectory. The new CTS-V soars into the stratosphere of the most exhilarating luxury cars.”

Perhaps most notably though, there is a disconnect with this vehicle to those who simply aren’t within the small community of individuals who would be able to afford this vehicle. While it’s a very nice investment, and the fact that it’s a sedan instead of sports car – goes a long way – it comes down to giving people the ability to have a product in front of them that’s reasonable. This isn’t reasonable, but it will sell a good number of vehicles, nonetheless.
