2 transported to hospital after shooting outside Hollywood laundromat; gunman still at large – WSVN 7News | Miami News, Weather, Sports | Fort Lauderdale

HOLLYWOOD, FLA. (WSVN) – An investigation took place outside of a laundromat after a shooting broke out in Hollywood.
Police arrived at the business, located along Sheridan Street, where two women were shot by a gunman, Monday, around 6:15 p.m.
Surveillance footage showed people running out of the building as someone opened fire inside Laundry Buster’s Laundry Services.
Officials said there was a fight that involved the shooter and the victims before the shots were fired.
“It’s unfortunate,” said Ray Garcia. “We never experienced stuff like this in this plaza, but it happens, you know.”
“One of my friends that was outside and said, ‘Someone is shooting outside,’ and I said, ‘Wow, really?’” said Andrea Mercado.
Employees who work for other businesses within the plaza said they saw the commotion after the shooting had occurred.
“I’m here everyday, so what’s going on here? What’s going on on the streets? People are crazy,” said Mercado.
Detectives placed evidence markers inside the business as they investigated the shooting.
Both injured women were taken to the Memorial Regional Hospital in critical condition.
The gunman remains at large.
If you have any information on this shooting, call Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS. Remember, you can always remain anonymous, and you may be eligible for a reward of up to $5,000.
