Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev and his close friend Acharya Balakrishna will be seen enacting their life journey in a 90-minute biopic which revolves around the duo’s connection to Yoga.

The movie titled as ‘YogYatra’ was aired on SONY TV on May 1, 2016, as a part of a special screening.

It would be kind of interesting to watch Baba Ramdev enact his life journey leading to his evolution as the iconic Yogmaestro.

A teaser of the movie was spotted on YouTube in which Acharya Balkrishna and the Yoga mentor himself can be seen bringing their early life on screen.

Reportedly, the film documents every detail of Baba Ramdev’s years encapsulating prominent events from his childhood to the time he attained global recognition.

Written and directed by Kaveta Chaudhary the movie has gained national attention. Kaveta Chaudhary is better known for her TV series Udaan on Doordarshan aired in the 90s which focused on women empowerment and issues quite ahead of their time.

Kaveta spent months on research for the film and tried to discover facts about lives of Baba Ramdev and Acharya Balkrishna as much as possible.

“YogYatra came to me with Acharya Balkrishnaji’s call for making a film on their institution, its foray of activities.

I convinced them to expand the scope to including the vision behind Patanjali while including their activities. Then began my research in knowing Baba Ramdev and Acharya Balkrishna and revisiting their junctions in life.

“Kaveta went on, “The film showcases through the example of Baba Ramdev and Acharya Balkrishna that how by carving their own path & choosing to be who they are, both achieved global success!

The film also attempts to free us from the prevalent education system from marks orientation to an all-round development that gives the strength to deal with different shades of life – with ease, joy, and glory!”

Acharya Balkrishna was impressed by Kaveta’s previous work and the susceptive aura with which she brings her characters to life.

Balkrishna also stated that Kaveta’s storytelling prowess convinced him to hand over the project to her.
‘YogYatra’ was aired on Sony TV on May 1, 2016, at 7:30 am.
