Teacher charged with sex crimes involving minors in Ontario case

A teacher in Canada has been accused of over 30 sex crimes involving children. Jaclyn Lindsay McLaren (also known by the name Jaclyn Jones), 36, of Stirling, Ontario, was working within the Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board and was arrested on February 15.

The offences are alleged to have taken place in the period between 2013-2016. Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) told reporters Miss McLaren is currently on bail awaiting a further court hearing set for March 31.

The police say charges relate to four students between the ages of 12 to 15 years, and that the alleged incidents took place in Tweed, some 40 kilometres northeast of Belleville.

Sergeant Peter Leon of the OPP said McLaren faced charges of making child pornography, sexual interference with a minor, making an invitation to sexual touching, and of making sexually explicit content available to children. In all, she faces accusations of 36 sex crimes against young people.

Education director for Hastings and Prince Edward District Mandy Savery-Whiteway said that at present Miss McLaren is not attending work. She added that support and counselling were being made available for those affected. A School District investigation is to be launched alongside the one carried out by police.

McLaren’s lawyers had asked for a ban on her name being announced to stay in place. However, Justice Sam Cureatz agreed with Crown prosecutors and ordered the ban lifted. In court, Miss McLaren entered shackled at hand and foot, wearing a long black winter coat.

Justice Cureatz outlined the conditions of her $100,000 bail – McLaren must not make contact with the four alleged victims, or with any male under the age of 18. She may not have a cell phone, and any computers in her place of residence were to be removed immediately.

It was reported upon being unshackled in court; a sobbing Miss McLaren rushed to hug her parents.

  • Soooo I suppose victims rights groups will be outside THIS courthouse with signs telling us to believe the victims, right?!

What? No? Victims rights are being gendered by angry feminists. Just like the ones who ignore the much higher number of missing and murdered Aboriginal MEN. But hey, only women can be victims and only men can be perps, right?

At least this website allows commentary. Most sites forbid commentary when women are the perps.
