Ronaldo fit but Benzema and Casemiro ruled out against City – Zidane

Cristiano Ronaldo, the Portuguese soccer superstar, will be 100 % fit to scorch the field. Coach Zidane informed that he would be back in Los Blancos starting lineup against their Champions League opponents.

He will play the  4 May 2016 encounter with Manchester City. The soccer superstar who had suffered a hamstring injury in Madrid’s previous game has fully recovered from the injury. Ronaldo also did not feature in Saturday’s 3-2 win at Rayo Vallecano.

Head coach Zinedine Zidane informed that Cristiano Ronaldo is “100 percent” fit and will play in the Champions League semi-final second leg with Manchester City. Ronaldo had skipped the earlier three matches because of the thigh injury but has proved his fitness before the Real’s crucial encounter.

However, all is not well for Real Madrid bosses as two top players Casemiro and Karim Benzema are struggling for fitness ahead of the clash. Casemiro took a nasty blow to the hip sustained in Saturday’s 1-0 win at Real Sociedad while Benzema is yet to recover from a hamstring problem. However, the chief coach said that Casemiro’s injury is not serious, but Casemiro is Casemiro.

Benzema has netted 27 times this season and could be replaced by Forward Lucas Vazquez, who had replaced Ronaldo in the goalless first leg in Manchester. Ronaldo is the top scorer in the Champions League with 16 goals

Real Madrid is having a dream run this season and has won 10 league games in a row. However, it is testing times for everyone at Real, especially Zidane, who took charge of the Real Madrid team in January after Rafael Benitez was sacked. Not reaching the Champions League final in Milan on May 28 would be a huge disappointment.

It has been rumored that Cristiano Ronaldo had undergone stem cell treatment to hasten his recovery from the Hamstring injury so that he will be fit for the all important match with Manchester City on Wednesday.
