Google Nexus 5 image leaked again, coming on September 29

The release of LG’s latest Nexus 5 is scheduled for September 29 at San Francisco this year. But users don’t need to wait that long. Thanks to a recent leaked official photo of the new phone which just adds one more to the basket of leaked photos.

AndroidPit says it has acquired the photo from a trusted source. The picture gives a clear image of the backside of the white colored handset. White is the “Panda” style showcasing a black front or moderately black sides along with a white rear cover.

The handset sports a circular fingerprint scanner right below the camera lens which has been shifted slightly upwards. On the left hand side of the lens lies a dual-LED flash and laser autofocus component. The camera performance is said to be lower than that possessed by LG G4. It is believed to have a 12.3 MP back camera and a 5MP front-facing camera. Some specs likely to be featured in the device include 5.2-inch Full HD display, Snapdragon 808 CPU, 3 GB of RAM, 2,700 mAh non-removable battery and USB Type-C. But since the USB is concealed in the picture, it cannot be said for sure that the device will have a Type-C USB. The surprising thing about the image is that it does not bear the LG logo below the Nexus logo.

The LG device is said to come in two sizes with the bigger one with more features and better specifications obviously costing higher than its smaller counterpart. September 29 will witness two releases- the LG Nexus 5 (2015) which resembles the 2013-released Nexus 5, and a 5.7 inch phablet which is being called Nexus 6(2015). The former is manufactured by LG while the latter is developed by Huawei.

The day will also see the launch of the pretty much-awaited version of Google’s operating system- Android 6.0 Marshmallow. It is also revealed that Anatel (Brazil’s Telecommunications Agency) has approved of the device with dual-SIM card slots to be sold in the country. The information leaked in August revealed that the device will feature an aluminum frame and a matte plastic back cover.

The price of Nexus 5X (the retail name for the device) is believed to range between $300 and $400, which seems to be similar to the price of Nexus 5 released back in October 2013. Talking about color variants, there is no surety, but the new Nexus is anticipated to sport white, black and blue shades. It seems that leaked images ahead of any launch serve many purposes including creating a stir and excitement among the fans and using it as a tool for advertising the product. However, there are some downsides too.

The suspense of how the device will look and features it will bear is killed somehow. Nevertheless, looking at the positive side, Nexus fans and other users are indeed buckled-up for the event after hearing the numerous rumors created around the leaks.
